I hike. I am.

As a hiker you're used to waking up early. You're also used to being exposed to the elements and facing weather conditions that make normal people stay inside. You're used to blisters, sore feet and tired legs. You know how it feels when you've used up all your energy but you are still in the mountains and you know that you just have to keep going and push on. You know how it's like when you think you've reached your limit but that's not on option. Sometimes you've hated your life choices and wondered why time and time again you choose to spend your weekends and holidays this way. Nobody forces you to drag that heavy backpack of yours over the mountains, yet you do it. But if you're a hiker you also know that in the mountains you find peace like nowhere else. You know that when you stand on top of that summit it's both a very humbling but also a very empowering feeling. Sometimes you see the world beneath your feet, sometimes you don't, but you still know that it's there and you're standing on top of it. If that doesn't fill you with endorphins then nothing will. Hiking is sweat. Hiking is pain. Hiking is perseverance. But hiking is also meditation, finding peace. Hiking is overcoming fears. Hiking is pushing your limits. Hiking is loving this beautiful little planet we are allowed to live on. Hiking is leaving the weight of the world behind and only carrying the weight of your backpack. Hiking is feeling alive.
